This was my statement one year ago.
THIS TIME NEXT YEAR YOU SHOULD BE MAKING $7000/MONTH…..
This was the challenge recently presented to me by my husband. This time I am accepting the challenge. My husband is a stay-at-home dad who does internet marketing for a living. I am a highly educated educator with my own tutoring business and a long list of other low-paying, brain-numbing “second” jobs that I have relied upon for the past 10 years to help make ends meet. While I love my tutoring jobs, it is very seasonal and part time, and we scrape by month by month, paycheck to paycheck. I am 41 years old. I am tired of being tired. I am tired of being poor. I am tired of not living up to my potential. It is time to stop doing whatever I was doing and find a new way to do what I need to do.
This Success At 7000 Project is my personal journey to discover what has been holding me back from finding success in my career, to fix it, and to start making $7000/month in one year. I understand that to some people, this is not a big deal. For me, however, $7000/month is as good as $100,000. At this stage of my life, $7000 a month is a huge number and totally unattainable with the jobs I am presently engaged in. This number seems almost beyond my grasp. To have a chance at success, I know something radical must happen. This scares me, and that is good. This identifies perhaps my biggest problem….FEAR.
I see a quote on a calendar on my fridge right now that asks a question; “What would you try if you were not afraid of failing?”
To be honest, I have recently come from a place where there is literally no more to lose, and everything to gain by trying something new. This led me to the place to accept this challenge. I really don’t know where it will take me, but I plan to chart my course along the way.
Do you want to join in? It is sure to be interesting.”
The question is, have I arrived? The short answer is “no.” I do not yet make $7000/month, nor do I live a $7000/month lifestyle. However….
I have doubled my income. I have become more educated on how to become more successful, and have taken serious strides in moving towards that success number.
I have learned to take better care of myself, for I can never really be taken seriously in business or life if I do not first respect myself.
I have learned to take more risks, but good risks. I have learned more about social engineering and how to take charge of my own decisions and start making opportunities for me to succeed.
I am on my way to fulfilling my dream. I may be taking a bit longer than I hoped, and I must and do take responsibility for my part in not reaching my goal yet.
To give up now, however, would be irresponsible. Real success comes from learning from my mistakes, and realizing that my mistakes are really just learning points along the way to success.
In light of these truths, here is my new focus.
I have learned a lot about my passions and my strengths, and I am trying to bring together a career focus of educational coaching. Recently equipped with some great resources and gaining more insight every day, I want to go through this process here, with you. This blog is my story on the way to my own personal success, and with every post I would like to help you come along with me.

Now for an inspirational quote
“Having dreams is not what determines success, but rather, the determination for one to come out of a difficult circumstance. Innovation is triggered when we are in a tight situation. When pushed to a tight corner, achievers always tend to find ways out of their predicaments. It’s during this time that their minds are stimulated and they come up with new innovative solutions.”
How exciting Lori Ann! Let’s talk soon, Heather
